grind detail (Grind)

Gothix Grind 1.0 (NET Software)

Grind is different from Echo/CodeBreaker/Dotanuki: it does not carry
you through a passage, and it is not personal to you. Instead it
attacks the protection on one specific passage directly. If it
succeeds, that protection is disabled for EVERYONE, not just you --
Grind itself never moves you.

While you are connected to a NET host, target the specific protected
passage:

    run Grind <direction>

You can also run it by its local file number.

A successful Grind leaves the target boundary open to anyone who
crosses it afterward, with no authorization of any kind created for
you or them. A failed attempt changes nothing -- the protection stays
active and you stay exactly where you were.

Disabled protection stays disabled until someone with the authority to
do so explicitly restores it -- ordinary crossings do not repair it, and
it does not wear off on its own.

Grind needs 4 units of free RAM while it runs and releases them when
the attempt finishes, win or lose. The stored copy stays on your deck
and can be run again.
