clone reconstruction detail (Clone Reconstruction)

Clone Reconstruction

Clone continuity must be purchased before death.

A valid continuity arrangement consists of:

    a purchased clone contract
    a compatible stored backup snapshot

The contract records which clone facility and replacement-body product were
purchased. The backup records the person who will be restored.

When you die

Your old physical body becomes a real persistent corpse first. Equipment,
cyberware, wounds and the old body's physical state remain with that corpse.

If no usable purchased clone and matching backup exist, ordinary death remains
permanent.

If a valid clone arrangement exists, the same Character continues. You keep
the same Character identity, Account ownership and CID, but the continuing
person is removed from physical space while a replacement body is grown.

Reconstruction

Use:

    reconstruction
    recon

to check the process.

Reconstruction takes real elapsed time and continues while you are offline.

When reconstruction reaches 100%, it stops at:

    READY TO DECANT

Reaching 100% does not automatically put you into the new body.

Decanting

When the replacement body is ready, use:

    decant

Decant is an explicit player action.

The system then restores the stored person into the fresh replacement body,
resolves the already-persisted clone-failure result, installs a fresh physical
LinkCom using the same continuing CID, and consumes the purchased clone and
its linked backup.

Old cyberware is physical property of the dead body. It is not copied into
the replacement body.

A failed clone may permanently reduce the Attributes selected by the
purchased clone terms, never below the natural Attribute floor. An actual
clone failure also grants the established Luck increase.

After a successful decant you physically emerge at the clone facility that
provided the purchased contract.

The used clone contract and backup are gone after successful decant. A new
continuity arrangement must be purchased before it can protect a later death.
