Junking Items
Some physical items are deliberately disposable once you no longer
want or need them.
junk <item>
The item must be in your inventory and must have been explicitly marked
as junkable by the game. The `junk` command does not decide this from
an item's name, price, or type.
Examples of items that may be junkable include basic issue or decant
clothing and empty firearm magazines or drums.
Safety rules
You cannot junk an item while you are wearing it. Remove it first.
You cannot junk an item while you are holding or wielding it. Put it
away or unwield it first.
Integrated equipment or cyberware cannot be junked through this command.
A container must be empty before it can be junked.
Items that are not explicitly junkable are refused.
Confirmation
Junking permanently destroys the physical item, so the game always asks:
Are you sure you want to junk <item>? [yes/no]
Answer:
yes
to permanently destroy the item, or:
no
to keep it.
If you enter something other than yes or no, the game asks again.
The item is checked a second time after you answer yes. If its state
changed while the confirmation prompt was open, the deletion can still
be refused.
What junking does not do
Junking gives no credits, refund, salvage, crafting materials, or other
economic benefit. It is simply permanent disposal of an item the game
has declared disposable.
Loaded or partially-loaded firearm magazines are useful equipment and
are not automatically junkable. An empty magazine returned to inventory
can be junkable.
Loose live ammunition is not treated as spent casing waste merely
because it is ammunition.
